The ICL offer two sets on pick training aids. The original set 1 has covers for popular mortice locks, while the new set 2 has covers for BS2004 locks, and includes a cover for the ERA padlock.
Pick training set 1 (for popular mortice locks)
This set of 5mm thick plastic covers covers a range of popular mortice locks and assists in the training process for picking these locks. These are now laser cut for improved accuracy and finish, and so are far superior in quality.

There are six covers to fit the following locks: ERA Profit, ERA Viscount, Chubb 3g114, New Chubb 3g114e, Chubb 3g110, Union British Standard, ERA Invincible and Union 3-lever. Each cover fits perfectly in place of the existing metal cover, allowing the user to understand what is happening inside the lock. This is particularly useful for the understanding of how to overcome the anti-picks found inside these locks.

Pick training aid set 2 (for BS2004 locks)

This set of six lock covers is designed for use with the new BS mortice locks and includes a cover set for the ERA 5-lever padlock. These are laser cut covers and every drill hole, screw hole and fastening/slot hole has been taken into account for in their design. A unique ICL Fidget has been designed to solve the problem of the ERA Fortress lock and is designed to keep the bolt thrower in place once the front cover has been removed.
The set covers the following locks:
- Walsall BS A661 64mm deadlock
- Securefast skdb2 64mm deadlock
- Legge 5641 64mm deadlock
- ERA Fortress 261-31 64mm deadlock with the unique ICL Fidget
- Union J2134E 64mm deadlock
- ERA closed shackle padlock 975-91
These covers are designed to replace the existing metal cover of the lock. However, there are some important notes for some of these locks as follows:

Notes for ERA Fortress: The lock should be locked with the key and then the ICL Fidget inserted into the gap to the right of the bolt thrower. This will stop the bolt thrower being sprung to the right under tension.

Notes for the ERA padlock: The use of the covers will involve the removal of the padlock faceplate. This will involve the use of a grinder or pillar drill to remove the rivet heads. This is a fast procedure using a grinder and the front plate can be carefully removed. There are two plastic covers for the padlock and one sits behind the padlock and the other sits on the front. Screws are supplied to fix the two together. The large plug holding the clasp can then be reversed and reinserted to keep the clasp in place.

General: Some additional screws are supplied with the kit, but additional screws may be needed as sometimes – due to manufacturing intolerances – the supplied screws may not quite reach or be too long to fasten the lock together with the plastic plates. Normal machine screws at around 3.5mm may be required at different lengths.
